I planted a tree the day you were born,
Never sure just how it would grow.
I cared for it diligently and gave it some love,
Asked for some sunshine from the Lord above.
Over the years, it grew tall, strong, and true,
Gave me joy and never a day felt blue.
I planted a tree the day you were born,
You are that tree, and the sun on you did shine.
You’re my rock, my strength, my light,
Like a beacon of hope, you are ever so bright.
And just like a tree, with roots deep and wide,
You stand tall with such grace, the pride of my life.
